Fuck Google

I hope that’s clear enough.

Turns out they’ll not only track and turn over your information to the government, any government, they’ll also censor information by governmental request. (Via Maud Newton.)

The numbers shouldn’t be taken as definitive. Google points out that a “single” request from a government to remove information from its search results, or Blogger posts, or to delete videos from You Tube, may actually include several requests grouped under a common theme. And the numbers don’t take into account the number of Internet users in each country. (Also, the list omits China, surely the biggest meddler in Google’s affairs.) Still, this tally, provided by the company, of the number of times various governments have asked to have information scrubbed from Google is eye-opening.

The rest.
