Court tosses CU gun ban

About a year ago I played security for Ward Churchill, Bill Ayers, and Derrick Jensen at CU. There were a lot of death threats, all of which turned out to be the usual chickenshit internet chatter, but I remember thinking that it’d be real nice to be able to carry.

Wish granted, from the Denver Post:

The Colorado Court of Appeals ruled Thursday that the University of Colorado has no authority to bar students or visitors from lawfully carrying guns on campus.

The appeals court said an El Paso County district judge was wrong to dismiss a challenge filed by a group called Students for Concealed Carry on Campus and three students from the University of Colorado.

A couple of months back, CU students sponsored an evening with Bill Ayers, Derrick Jensen, and Ward Churchill in support of Churchill’s reinstatement lawsuit against CU. You can find video of the Bill Ayers and Ward Churchill portions here.

The savvier of you will note some so-called security dipshit standing around behind Churchill with his hands in his pockets, not looking real tough. It’s me. They let me show up to these things like you’d throw a dog a bone, but the legitimate badasses on stage were Brad and Alicia Gumm. There were death threats galore leading up the event, but thanks to those two, Messrs Ayers, Churchill, and Jensen couldn’t have been safer in an AIM bunker.

We sure are pleased with those backroom boys at Dow. The original product wasn’t so hot–if the gooks were quick they could scrape it off. So the boys started adding polystyrene–now it stuck like shit to a blanket. But then if the gooks jumped under water it stopped burning, so they started adding Willie Peter so’s to make it burn better. It’ll burn under water now. And just one drop is enough, it’ll keep burning right down to the bone so they die anyway from phosphorus poisoning.
